Healing 101..

Healing 101:

-Understand that pain is inevitable!

1. You must let the pain visit
2. You must allow it teach you
3. You must not allow it overstay
—Ijeoma Umebinyuo

-Understand that pain should not define you or define your choices!

"To heal is to touch with love that which was previously touched by fear." —Stephen Levine

- Understand that pain can swallow you only if you allow it to !

“throw roses into the abyss and say: ‘here is my thanks to the monster who didn’t succeed in swallowing me alive."
—Friedrich Nietzsche

-Understand that time heals everything and anything, just give the time some time!

“The worst thing in the world can happen, but the next day the sun will come up. And you will eat your toast. And you will drink your tea.” —Rhian Ellis

-Understand that it is okay not to have answers to all your questions, sometimes you need to move on without even finding validations for your decision.

"Sometimes you don’t get closure. You just move on."

-Understand that those who caused you pain are in pain themselves, it is not an excuse for them, but it is your way to understand that it is not about you, it is about them!

"People can only meet you as deeply as they have met themselves. Don’t waste your energy trying to explain things to those who cannot hear you." —Audrey Kitching

-Understand that strength is not about hiding your emotions, it is more of embracing them and understanding the reason behind them!

“Destroy the idea that you have to be constantly working or grinding in order to be successful. Embrace the concept that rest, recovery, and reflection are essential parts of the progress towards a successful and ultimately happy life.”

-Understand that a lot of people will let you down just because they havent been through what you have been through and thats not an excuse, however God will give you other ones who will support you without any reasons. Be this kind of support to others !

"One of the greatest barriers to empathy is the fear of saying the wrong thing or the need to make everything better. Let me go on record as saying (putting you at ease a little bit, hopefully) that when someone has experienced something very traumatic - a significant loss - there’s nothing you can say to make it better. All you can do is to be with people in that space. So if all you can come up with is, ‘I don’t know what to say. I just know that I want to be with you in this. I don’t know how to make it better. I just know that I’m dying inside to make it better. I want to help.’ What we all need when we’re in struggle is the ability for other people to look us in the eye, to be with us, to embrace us, and to be willing to be with us." —Brené Brown

-Understand that pain changes people, they mature as they go through it, and it is okay to change.

"I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed a few times since then." —Lewis Carroll

-Understand that healing requires a lot of self-care, self-acceptance and self-forgiveness!

“With every act of self care your authentic self gets stronger, and the critical, fearful mind gets weaker. Every act of self care is a powerful declaration: I am on my side; each day I am more and more on my side.” —Susan Weiss Berry

-Understand that it is okay to take one step at a time, baby steps. Day by day, do not overthink or stress yourself!

"Maybe it’s okay that you don’t know what’s going to happen. Maybe you should stop predicting and controlling and enjoy each moment as it comes."

-Understand that what you have been through doesn’t need to be true to anyone, hanging on to reasons why it happened to validate your pain to others will only break you more!

“I think sometimes trauma survivors fall into this place where it’s very hard to believe that anything that happened to you was that bad. And the only proof you have that it was that bad is that you’re suffering. And so healing can be really scary and difficult because it means giving up the only tangible evidence you have that you were traumatized in the first place.” —gaymilesedgeworth

-Understand that the world does this to you to change your heart, do not allow it to, be kinder always!

“It’s so easy to laugh.
It’s so easy to hate.
It takes guts to be gentle and kind.”
—The Smiths

-Understand that the only person who needs to be good to you is You!

"Sometimes you don’t start your day until 2pm. Sometimes you have to put on a pair of jeans and a nice shirt instead of sweatpants in order to feel good about yourself. Sometimes it’s really fucking hard to get up and take a shower or brush your teeth. Sometimes it’s really fucking hard to take care of yourself and it’s okay. That is okay. Simple things aren’t always easy and simple things being hard doesn’t make you weak, you are doing the best you can and some days there are things you just can’t do and that’s okay. You are healing. You are trying. Do what you need to do to feel good." —lightpositivity #ToBeVulnerablyHonest
